News: i-Santorini Scoops Best Mass Market Condo/Apartment Development (Penang) Award for Ideal Property Group

The modern, yet classic style of I-Santorini, with its iconically Greek blue-and-white design influence, is fresh, beachy and light. Ideal Property Group scooped a win for Best Mass Market Condo/Apartment Development (Penang) at the 6th annual PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Malaysia) in April 2019 for their unique three-tower condo development. AHS Architects Sdn Bhd are in charge of the property’s striking architecture, with ID Design Studio responsible for the interiors.

For all its imaginative design, the beauty of simplicity lies at the heart of the development with each of the 2,155 units created with the exact same 850-square-foot dimensions and identical layout, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The ground and first floors house 86 concept retail lots too.

Each condo faces the Malacca Straits with views out to the Andaman Sea, and natural light also floods into each of the spaces, thanks to a large window between the living and dining areas. Meanwhile, airflow is optimised by the tower design and parallel setting, so residents can cool down with their windows open, adding to the natural-living feel. The white interiors are a cool and attractive fit with the property’s seaside feel.

The development responds to the popularity amongst mass-market buyers in the region for holiday-lifestyle homes that are budget-conscious. This sentiment is echoed and praised by the award judges too. “Emulating the aesthetics of Greek homes and adapting them for Southeast Asian high-rise living requirements, I-Santorini will appeal to its target customers in its price category.”

Right by the beach, the Greek-island design continues out to the exteriors, with blue domes, bell-tower designs and textured, whitewashed walls, whilst the blue infinity pool looks out to the blue waters off the coast. Water features and Mediterranean-style landscaping frame communal spaces with over 30 features designed with community, relaxation and leisure in mind.

As well as rooftop facilities, a split-level podium invites residents to experience a haven by the sea with shaded gardens and steps leading down to a sky beach pavilion and barbeque area. Cascading waterfalls, pools, whirlpools, playgrounds and cabanas make up the Wellness Cove as well as the Water Leisure and Children Cove. A walkway, viewing deck and lawn define the Tranquil Gardens, whilst the Function Zone includes meeting rooms and a community hall. Residents can relax, socialise, play games and read with a dedicated Adults and Elderly Room, plus a Kids and Teens Activity Zone that also boasts a creativity room.
